the item here is unidentified if that were purple. i would think it might be a ruin.. (if i remember correctly) ..

what does orange signify?

It's 'gold' or 'rare' which means expert salvaging will generally result in a rune.

Because salvaging does not give 100% chance of getting a rune/upgrade.

Hehe, you were lucky. I only got 6 wood from a gold axe I salvaged....

Sad thing is it was the first decent axe I have found all game...

ever since the last patch when it was supposed to make runes MORE frequant every purple armour i have got has been a minor rune and i have NEVER got any of them. I aslo did'nt even get any rare craftong stuff form them either

I dont think the patch made getting the runes more frequent, it made identifying them more frequent (I cant say how many times I got a purple salvage item - IDed it and no change)

every time I get a purple or orange drop that doesn't salvage into a rune I scream at the top of my lungs and break something valuable in my house....damn cursed guild wars!!!!!!!!!!
